Marquis® Grants 600th Wish
Independence, Ore. — April 1, 2015— Ethan was born with a life-threatening heart condition. When he was five-years-old he suffered cardiac arrest, his heart stopped and he was left unable to walk or talk. Now seventeen, Ethan loves going to the beach and swimming. He also enjoys being around people and socializing. Given Ethan's love for socializing and water, he knew right away what his wish was when Make-A-Wish® wish granters visited him, Ethan wished for a swim spa! A swim spa provides Ethan with a place he can move around beyond the restrictions of his wheelchair.
On February 10, 2015 Marquis® with support from local dealer Cal-X Fun Spas helped grant Ethan's wish, donating their new swim spa, Aquatic Training VesselsTM or ATVTM. Ethan's mom, Constance, shares, "The Marquis® ATVTM will give us an opportunity to share an activity with Ethan and connect with him beyond the confines of his wheel chair." Ethan's wish marks the 600th wish granted by Marquis® through its relationship with Make-A-Wish. Cal-X Fun Spas is one of many Marquis® dealers across the country helping Make-A-Wish to make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
In celebration of Marquis®' 600th wish, Marquis® is offering consumers a $600 discount on the Wish hot tub, Spirit hot tub or ATVTM and donating $100 to Make-A-Wish for each of these units purchased with coupon during the month of April.
Marquis®' In the Spirit of a Wish program was inspired by a girl named Andrea over a decade ago. When Make-A-Wish approached Marquis® about helping to grant Andrea's wish in 2000, the company was more than eager to help. Her wish inspired Marquis® to help with similar wishes. So far the sponsorship has generated more than $3 million in donations and discounts for Make-A-Wish. Marquis® dealers nationwide are involved in granting wishes. Please visit www.marquisspas.com to download the coupon and for details surrounding the campaign.
"We are so fortunate to count Marquis® as a long-time sponsor of Make-A-Wish and a tremendous supporter of our wish kids," said David A. Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. "The Spirit of a Wish campaign is another testament to Marquis®' commitment to helping us grant more wishes every year and changing lives, forever."
John Schrenk, President of Marquis®, agrees that working with wish children is extremely gratifying. "It's incredibly rewarding that through our hot tubs and swim spas, we are able to add some happiness and improve the wellbeing of so many children with life-threatening medical conditions," says Schrenk. "I speak on behalf of all Marquis® employee-owners when I say we feel privileged and honored to be able to enhance the lives of these children. It feels wonderful to see our spas create a sanctuary for the wish kids and their families."
